We may send promotional emails where we have a lawful basis to do so.

This may include:

  • Your consent

  • An applicable existing-customer marketing exception where permitted by law

Certain advertising activities involving identifiers or online tracking may be legally classified as "sharing" or a "sale" under some privacy laws even though no money is exchanged.

Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of this activity, we will provide an appropriate way to exercise that right.

18. International Data Transfers

WiseParent is based in the United Kingdom, but some of our technology providers operate internationally.

This means personal information may sometimes be processed outside the United Kingdom.

When personal information is transferred internationally, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism where required.

Depending on the destination and provider, this may include:

  • UK adequacy regulations

  • The UK International Data Transfer Agreement

  • The UK Addendum to approved contractual clauses

  • Other safeguards recognised by applicable data-protection law

You may contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards used for international transfers involving your information.

19. How Long We Keep Information

We do not keep personal information indefinitely merely because it may be useful someday.

Retention depends on why we collected the information.

WiseParent Account and Child Profiles

Account information, child profiles, conversations and personalization information are generally retained while your account remains active so that WiseParent can provide continuity and personalized responses.

You may delete your profile or account from within the application.

You may also contact support to request deletion.

Uploaded Content

Drawings, homework images, voice information and other uploaded content are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the associated service, maintain your account where applicable, and meet legitimate security or legal requirements.

Deleted Accounts

When an account is deleted, we remove or anonymize personal information from active systems where it is no longer required.

Some information may remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are overwritten in accordance with our normal backup cycles.

We may retain limited information where necessary for:

  • Legal obligations

Purchase Records

Certain transaction and accounting information may need to be retained for legally required accounting, tax or compliance periods.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom.

Your rights may differ depending on the lawful basis for processing and the law that applies to you.

23. Children's Privacy Rights

Because information about children may be associated with an adult WiseParent account, a parent or guardian may request access, correction or deletion where they have the legal authority to do so.

We may need to verify identity and authority before responding to a request involving child information.

WiseParent is designed for adult account holders and does not intentionally invite children to independently provide personal information.

If you believe a child has independently created an account or submitted information without appropriate adult involvement, please contact us.
